In this video i will show you how to connect or setup a chamberlain myq device with openhab 2. These are the classic icons from eclipse smarthome. The garage opener i bought is called boxer 3000 and it seems similar to almost all other openers on the market. The funny thing is that i actually added garage door number 2 before number 1 so in my items file i have it backwards if you are looking at the myq number.

Grab the garagedoor sketch from github and and modify the code to your taste. Also i changed the item names to reflect which garage door they are foor so i put a 1 at the end of the ones for garage door 1 and a 2 for garage door 2. It has a actually 2 remote controls with one button that controls the opening. I will be connecting my chamberlain garage door opener to open.

When the door is opened externally to oh only the reed switch triggers a message to oh and because the actuators and sensors are separate items there is no looping problem. These icons can be used when describing items.

If you have multiple garage door openers and or lights the device index is based on the order the garage door opener light s were added to the myq app. Since the door icons end in open png and closed png they won t work with a switch unless you make copies of them and rename to end in on png and off png. Adjust this to match the ip address of your openhab mqtt server. Since the garagedoor icon expects the states open and closed the icon will visually change to match the door state.

For people with only one garage door opener the value needs to be set to 0. The only real value you will need to customize is the mqtt server variable.
